Description of Injury:

Sgt Sean Hunt was deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in 2004-2005 with Golf Company, 1st Platoon Second Battalion, Fifth Marines. During his deployment, he was caught in many firefights and was subjected to countless explosions. After living through multiple violent exchanges with the enemy and being blown up numerous times, there was one particular IED blast that was severe enough to knock he and his fellow Marines in the area off their feet and rendered them unconscious. Sgt Hunt could not hear, even after regaining consciousness for 24 hours after the attack. This blast, coupled with the RPG that was shot at him (which missed), caused his continuing suffering from severe tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and partial bilateral hearing loss. While in public, Sgt Hunt now reads lips and matches that with spoken tones. In most cases, he is unable to hear what people are trying to say to him.

Sgt Hunt currently lives in Washington state and is working hard to improve his home and quality of life. The current couch he has in his home is riddled with holes and broken springs. His wish is for a new couch to improve the way his home looks and allows him to be comfortable while relaxing!
