of Goal Raised
Description of Injury:
GySgt Cervantes served as Staff Non-Commissioned Officer In charge, Headquarters Battalion, First Marine Division with 25 Marines under his command. During October 2014, he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was transferred from operating forces to Wounded Warrior Battalion-West (WWBn). GySgt Cervantes is undergoing experimental treatment for his illness and doctors are hoping to prolong his life and give him more time with his family.Wish:
GySgt Cervantes' original wish was to spend as much time with his family as he can, and in particular he wanted to spend a night on the town with wife and children. However, due to his illness, he does not have the physical strength to spend much time away from home. Because of his health challenges and the immense amount of medicines and treatment that require refrigeration, his family's kitchen refrigerator was stocked full of his medicines, leaving no room for the family's groceries. The family needed another fridge in which he could store his medication.
